6 Reasons to Donate!

1. The Education Fund has been around since 1990, so we are very experienced in identifying programs that provide the most benefit for our community.

2. Many projects test new ways of teaching and other projects replace and update equipment needed for new ways of teaching. The results of all grants are shared on our new website: www.pinolafund.org . For example, check out the homepage to learn more about the new way the Living Beauty Cancer Foundation is reaching out to help women coping with cancer.

3. As a community-based Education Fund, we have the flexibility to support one-time, exceptional programs. For example, the Education Fund provided a $35,000 grant to complete the YMCA capital campaign to install playground equipment at their preschool, serving children and families for the next 20 years! The Education Fund assisted the Crescenta Valley High School Music Department with a $18,000 grant to replace the entire drum section of the Band. This was critical to providing a synchronized sound and to doing their best in community programs and competitions throughout the state.

4. All members of the Board of Advisors believe so strongly in the Education Fund that they donate their time and financial support. All make annual financial gifts as well as Smart-A-Thon sponsorships.
5. We communicate with our donors by email, newsletters and our website so that everyone may know the many ways donations are working to help our community.

6. The Education Fund is a Donor Advised Fund of the Community Foundation of the Verdugos, a non-profit, 501(c)(3)organization. This means that 100% of your donation is tax deductible!
