The Following Community Organizations will be Receiving
Grants during the 2025 Grant Cycle.

Aquatics Booster Club, Crescenta Valley High School - $3,900
Grant will be used to help achieve a total budget of $7,802. The Booster Club has raised half the funds needed to purchase two new touchpads and two shot clocks. More than 200 students participate in the CVHS aquatics program each year.

Dunsmore Elementary School Parent Teacher Association - $1,000
Grant will be used to help develop the “100 Mile Club,” a national award-winning youth-focused program that uses running and physical fitness to promote social-emotional well-being. .Students walk, jog or run one mile(or more) a day, three times a week and by the end of the school year, they will have completed 100 miles. Funds will help solidify the current “makeshift track” to the upper playground as well as provide additional cones and markers which help direct the children on their laps.
Friends of Falkon Robotics, Crescenta Valley High School - $2,575
Grant will be used to purchase materials for a dedicated robot for the software subsystem of the Crescenta Valley High School Robotics program. The robot is reusable and only with it can students write and test autonomous code, learn to interface with new environment sensors, and refine vision/detection systems, resulting in significant opportunities for growth in student skills.

Hillside School & Learning Center - $3,475
​
Grant will be used to purchase updated textbooks and resources for two core subject areas – texts in physics and government/economics. Every year, nearly 300 students are served through the school’s wide range of programs, including day school, dual enrollment, credit classes, and winter and summer sessions.
Instrumental Music Program, Crescenta Valley High School - $2,940
Grant will be used to purchase 5 new cymbal and 3 new sousaphone cases needed to update their existing equipment. Traveling cases keep the instruments in good condition. Marching band uses both instruments in their field shows performed at football games, band competition, pep rallies and the Montrose Christmas Parade. Currently the Marching Band includes 124 members and the Group was Division 5A winners in Southern California and 6th place in the State of California.
Prom Plus, Crescenta Valley High School - $1,800
Grant will be used to purchase equipment for use at various off-campus fundraising centers as well as the annual event itself. The event is designed to help students enjoy themselves in a drug-free, safe and supervised event that they find fun and memorable.
St. James Holy Redeemer School - $2,210
Grant will help establish the National Archery in the School’s Program (NASP) at St. James School, giving students access to a nationally recognized program that develops discipline, focus and confidence while promoting safe physical activity. It will directly serve approximately 54 Crescenta-Canada residents each year – all of the enrolled students including those with special needs from Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.
YMCA of the Foothills - $3,330
The grant will purchase BricQ Motion Essential and Prime kits to introduce youth to the world of physical science and STEAM fields. Motion Essential serves grades 1-5 and Motion Prime grades 6 – 8. Kits will be used in the YMCA year-round camp programs with 18 kits serving 36 students at a time.
